This interactive session explores practical strategies for evaluating field-building initiatives, drawing on real-world examples from data.org and TSIC. We’ll share lessons on defining field-building impacts, measuring reach and influence, and learning in complex systems. Yu-Shan Chiu Director of Consulting, TSIC Yu-Shan Chiu has led 50+ impact and learning projects across a host of social impact sectors. She works with various organisations such as British Council and Comic Relief. Her main speciality is equitable evaluation and is a co-founder of the UK’s Equitable Evaluation Collective.
Paul K Korir, PhD Director of Data Science, DataDotOrg Dr. Paul K. Korir leads data science at data.org. His main expertise are in bioinformatics, software development, and large-scale imaging. Formerly at EMBL-EBI, he developed 3D image processing tools. Passionate about mentoring, he supports emerging talent in data science for social impact.
Uyi Stewart, PhD Chief Data and Technology Officer, DataDotOrg Dr. Uyi Stewart leads data.org’s data and technology programs, including the GenAI Skills Challenge and Epiverse. A pioneer in AI and data science, he has held leadership roles at multiple companies including IBM, where he co-founded IBM Research – Africa.
Avinash Laddha Senior Data Analyst, DataDotOrg Avinash Laddha is a Senior Data Analyst at data.org, helping drive insights across initiatives and products. With experience in chemical engineering, finance, and digital marketing, he thrives in interdisciplinary data projects and is a passionate learner who explores diverse fields beyond work.
