What AI can't do: What the M&E Universe was built for, and why it still matters. The M&E Universe is a free resource of over 100 short papers on everything M&E, drawing on years of practitioner-focused, participatory learning and real world examples. How does this land in the age of AI? Drawing on papers from the resource, we will discuss ethical and practice implication of AI: who is being left out of AI evaluation? And whose perspectives count? What M&E Universe-style guidance on AI could help practitioners?

| Nigel Simister | Consultant | Nigel is an international development consultant, specialising in M&E, particularly the design, implementation and maintenance of M&E systems. He is recognised as a thought leader on developing M&E systems and frameworks and authored many of the papers in INTRAC’s online M&E Universe. |
| Vera Scholz | Consultant | Vera is a MEL practitioner committed to progressing the field of evaluation. As a member of the MERL Tech Initiative's Working Group on AI in Africa, she has been inquiring into how AI can enhance evaluation, learning and impact assessment and take organisational impact to a new level. |
