APPFE and APNODE will discuss the importance of building an evaluation culture in the Parliament and how this can address political polarization. The APPFE has been working towards encouraging parliamentarians to work towards the institutionalization of evaluation to inform evidence-based decision-making and policy-making. In the same vein, APNODE focuses on enhancing the evaluation capacity of parliamentarians to better oversee the executive actions.
The objective of this session is to share experiences and lessons from the Asia Pacific and Africa Regions on the steps taken to engage and promote an evaluation culture among Parliamentarians and its potential contribution to preventing/mitigating the issue of political polarization.
