Improving the Implementation of Take Home Ration in Rajasthan and Jharkhand: A Qualitative Study
NA-Lecture
Sobre o evento
India's Take Home Ration program is one of the oldest and largest community-based supplementary nutrition initiatives in the world. In August 2020, IDinsight conducted a qualitative study to map the processes behind the newly introduced THR supply chains, uncover and diagnose challenges in implementation and to identify opportunities for improvement. We will share our findings from this study and reflections on our experience conducting remote, phone-based qualitative interviews during the pandemic.

Resumo
The speakers suggested action in three key areas to improve the delivery of THR, especially in the context of another wave of COVID-19. The suggested actions were (i) address delays in funding and payments to supply-side actors; (ii) provide procurement support, including logistics/transportation and contingency planning; and (iii) strengthen communication strategies to reduce intra-household allocation issues.
During Q&A, speakers and participants discussed some of the identified challenges and action areas further. Participants asked about the process of conducting a remote qualitative survey (e.g. timing of phone calls, offering a mobile recharge).
