The Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA), in partnership with the Center for Evaluation at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, will host a “Managing Evaluations” session during Glocal Evaluation Week 2026, bringing together members and development practitioners. The session will provide practical insights into planning, coordination, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement, drawing on real-world experiences and best practices. Participants will deepen their understanding of evaluation management across diverse contexts, while strengthening their capacity to design and implement high-quality evaluations. Interactive discussions will encourage knowledge sharing, dialogue, and collaboration, contributing to the advancement of evaluation practice in Sri Lanka and the region.

Soma De Silva Dr. Soma De Silva is a former UNICEF South Asia Regional adviser on monitoring and evaluation. A south Asia Regionwide initiative on teaching evaluation which she introduced has led to the establishment of the Postgraduate Diploma course in Monitoring and Evaluation at the Sri Jayewardenepura University. Having initiated the establishment of the Sri Lanka Evaluation Association she served twice as its President. She has also served as the President of the IOCE. Currently she supports SLEvA’s efforts to professionalize evaluation. As part of these efforts, she has authored the workbook “Theory of Change for Development Success” published by SLEvA.
Asela Kalugampitiya Dr. Asela Kalugampitiya is a Sri Lankan lawyer, holds Masters in Evaluation and a PhD in evaluation from Germany. He is the immediate past President of Asia Pacific Evaluation Association. Asela has been working in the Monitoring & Evaluation field over two decades including for the United Nations as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. He was instrumental in launching the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation and promotion of institutionalization of evaluation within parliaments. He is a visiting lecturer of the Master of Evaluation, University of Saarland, Germany and a visiting lecturer of the Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. His main expertise area is national evaluation capacity development.

Amil Epa Mr. Amil Epa is a development and evaluation professional with extensive experience in programme evaluation, partnerships, and policy initiatives. He currently serves as the President of the Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA) and as the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Participatory Interaction in Development (IPID). He is also a former Board Member of the Asia Pacific Evaluation Association (APEA). Amil holds a BSc from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and a Master’s degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture at the same university. He has worked with the Government of Sri Lanka and has collaborated closely with the Department of Project Monitoring and Management, as well as with government, UN, and non-governmental agencies over the past decade, serving as an evaluator, manager, researcher, and resource person. His work spans Sri Lanka and the wider South Asian region, where he contributes to strengthening evaluation practices and promoting evidence-based decision-making in development programmes.
