One of the challenges of short-term development projects is achieving impact with participants of different levels. In Honduras, iDE addressed this by developing a producer assessment tool to identify those with the baseline business maturity needed to succeed in a year long program. Tested on 104 producers, the tool filters for skills and experience. We hypothesize this data-driven selection mitigates short-term constraints and increases market-readiness. This scalable framework could help MERL practitioners better predict outcomes and tailor interventions for sustainable impact.
