Sobre el evento
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how organizations collect data, generate evidence, and make decisions. How can we apply AI in ways that are practical, responsible, and effective in real-world programs?
This session brings together complementary perspectives to explore how AI is being used across the program cycle, from data collection and evaluation to risk prediction and sector-specific decision-making. Drawing on applied experience and emerging practice, speakers will highlight how AI tools can enhance efficiency, improve the use of evidence, and support more timely and informed decisions.
The session will examine the appropriate balance between AI and human judgment in evaluation, identifying where automation can add value and where human expertise remains essential. It will also explore how AI and machine learning are strengthening risk analytics and early warning systems, enabling more proactive responses to emerging crises. An additional segment will focus on innovations in data collection, including the use of visual evidence and image recognition to improve monitoring and verification. Finally, the session will present practical applications of AI in education systems, demonstrating how tools such as chatbots and large language models can support practitioners in selecting assessment tools, reviewing evaluation quality, and generating monitoring insights.
Across these areas, the discussion will address key risks (e.g., bias, data protection, and over-reliance on automated systems) and highlight strategies for responsible implementation in resource-constrained settings. Participants will leave with concrete examples of how AI can be applied across different program functions, a clearer understanding of its limitations, and practical insights on how to integrate AI tools into their own workflows to strengthen evidence use and decision-making.
