From evaluation to decision-making: how the REDD+ RBP study supported the continuation of this climate finance line in the GCF

Webinar | Online

About the Event

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has recently approved a new policy to finance REDD+ results-based payments, marking a milestone in supporting the reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries. This decision is the result of negotiations among countries and is based on key evidence provided by the Special Study on REDD+ results-based payment projects in the Latin America and Caribbean region, conducted by the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) of the GCF.

In this webinar, we will explore how this study influenced the GCF’s decision-making process by providing valuable insights into the effectiveness and impact of REDD+ results-based payments in the region. We will analyze the study’s key findings, its contribution to shaping the new policy, and the implications for the future of climate finance.

Join this session to gain first-hand knowledge of how evaluation can play a crucial role in policy formulation and the continuation of climate finance initiatives.
